Welcome to the Blue Barn, a new style of neighborhood deli dedicated to quality food in both flavor and harvest. Chef driven and product oriented, our menu offers thoughtful salads, toasted sandwiches and much, much more for a customer that values high quality ingredients and convenience from a local artisan that is still committed to making things from scratch the good old-fashioned way.

Committed to not only improving the way people eat but how we as a community produce our food, we pursue the local, sustainable and organic ideals that support the greater slow food movement and hope you will join us in these efforts. We are proud to offer an abundance of organically produced ingredients as well as the seasonal harvests from small, local and sustainable farms just to the North connected to us by the pioneering company FeedSonoma.

Our artisanal products include Acme breads made daily in Berkeley using organic and locally-milled flour. All of our proteins are truly “all-natural” and more importantly “never-ever”, meaning that the animals have “never, ever” been given any growth hormones, steroids or anti-biotics; have been fed a 100% vegetarian diet; and have been humanely raised and pastured on farms that are directly traceable and thus accountable. As such, we are proud to work with Brandt Ranch, Mary’s Chicken, Diestel Turkey, Mishimi Ranch and Niman Ranch. Many of our cheeses come from local, artisanal sources such as Pt Reyes, Vella and Laura Chenel; and those that are imported are the real thing, such as parmesano reggiano, brie & aged manchego from their actual country’s of european origin.
